What an interesting afternoon....the kids were playing outside in the snow and we heard a scream. A deer was being chased by a large dog through our yard. The deer ran down to the beach and jumped in the water and started swimming..pretty soon it was being pursued by a seal!! Poor guy!!

I actually don't know what happened to the poor fellow. It was cold and I came in.....am I heartless?
I am absolutely certain that he swam ashore a little further on. Deer are very good swimmers. They actually swim from island to island around these parts over large areas of water. Luckily the seals around here don't eat anything larger than a fish!
