Our trip to La Cruz

The fourth day we were in Mazatlan we took a trip with Ralph and Chris to their old house in La Cruz. About an hour north of Mazatlan. It was a real treat for us to see where they had been living as we have been keeping up with their website and praying for them for the past year or so. They are serving as missionaries and have been re-asigned to Mazatlan (the week before we came!) to work in the orphanages there. We knew them originally from Olympia.

This is a typical street in La Cruz. Most side roads and a few main roads are all dirt.Ralph turning in his key to the land lord.
Chris in the courtyard showing us the neighbors etc..
I realized just how modernized I've become when I saw this kitchen. I know it could be worse, but yikes.... these guys are tough. No water at night either.
Look closely at the dust on the patio. Dust EVERYWHERE!!
Kira and Ethan in the courtyard/patio area.
La Cruz
La Cruz beach. Basically deserted! Awesome sand and water for miles!!!
Pelican
Since it's a farming community there are lots of tractors instead of cars. Ethan's dream!

The entrance to the camp Ralph and Chris did some work at. It is fenced and guarded to keep people out! These workers come from the South mostly. Indian and other mexican people who work for very little money, but these are desired jobs!
Look closely. This is where the people live. They are small box like garages and each family lives in there with no door or wall. All the women hang up the laundry on these lines through the camp. No washing machines, it's all done by hand! We are spoiled!!!
