Lime Kiln... Attempt # 12?

We decided to go to San Juan Island for the day and to give Lime Kiln another shot before heading to South Beach, which was our actual destination.. We never left here. We got here and a whale volunteer told us that the whales were heading our way and that we should "stay put" ..we did.

We took a mini hike to the original Lime Kilns were the lime was mined.

Notice Kira's new shirt Granny? she loves it!

kayakers passing where we were sitting. Later they would be surrounded by whales!

Patiently waiting. (for about 3 hours) Kira and Ethan were great, reading, writing and napping!

Kira looking through the kiln. Grant thinks this should be her "album cover". Nice!

Kira "squishing" kayakers!

where did this fog come from? It was cold when the whales came by. Nice and close ,but not as close as they can get. Still, we were happy and thankful to see J pod! Baby in this photo!

back to the ferry landing. Only about 6 miles away and about twice as warm!
