Check out the birds!

For any ornithologists amongst you. Here are a couple of pictures that I took just now while home for lunch. The first is a red bellied sapsucker. The holes that you can see on the tree are its wells. They drill these holes in the tree (apple tree) and feed on the sap that drips out, as well as the insects that are attracted to the sap

The second is a bald eagle that uses the tree next door as a lookout over the water. He was hunting for small ducks just before stopping here. We watched him dive down for the duck, and the duck dive down under the surface of the water to avoid becoming lunch. The eagle gave up after several attempts....

Wow! Red Bellied Sapsucker and a Bald Eagle? All we have is a Chub Bellied Lonnie and a Balding Dougman. Fantastic place you folks have there!
