Kodiak

Our Grandpa Benson designed the Alaska flag and it's kind of a big deal in Alaska. They love the flag!
We happened to hit "King Crab night" at the local fish shop. 1 and 1/4 lb. of king crab for $20 (that's 10 pounds for you Scottish folk) It was amazing! I couldn't finish mine, so Brandee took it and had it for breakfast the next day! yum.. It's usually about $40 a pound down here for good fresh king crab.

mom was the best at getting the meat out without breaking it. I know, this isn't very vegetarian of me!

Near Island. It's a little island connected to downtown Kodiak by a big bridge.
wild geraniums..

crested puffin
puffins in the water. We saw a couple of sea otter's too, but the photos are too blurry. They were really cute and playful.
